A steep cobbled lane pulls you forward into a cluster of stone cottages, the whole scene wrapped in rich ochres, burnt siennas and weathered greys. The paint surface feels as if it’s cracked and peeling, like old porcelain rubbed by time, lending quiet weight to the huddled roofs. Overhead, a blazing orange-red orb hangs low, as though the day has been caught mid-fall, giving the room a dramatic, slightly melancholic warmth.
