Thick impasto strokes in peach, mauve, ochre and cream build a softly suggestive presence, as if two figures draw close within the warmth of the canvas. The textured surface adds depth, with negative space shaping an embracing silhouette that feels intimate rather than explicit. Subtle hints of underpainting peep through, giving the flesh tones and warm neutrals a lived-in richness. In a room, it brings a gentle, comforting closeness.
